Actor Park Yu-Hwan gave out 1,000 cups of coffee to newly-hired employees as he kept his promise of doing so if his televsion show does well in the ratings charts.
The actor, who plays just-employed Lee Woo Young in tvN’s I Need Romance 3, had promised that he would give 1000 cups of coffee to new workers if the cable drama surpassed a viewership rating of 1%, reported Soompi.
As Korean cable television shows have significantly lower viewership than its peers in the other formats, hitting the 1% mark in viewership is a testament to the cable show’s popularity.
In fact, I Need Romance exceeded all expectations, as it reached a high of 2% after the airing of a recent episode on last Tuesday (Feb 4).
The special event was not only a celebration for the drama’s continued success, but also to encourage new employees at their new jobs.
After the event, Park said: “I wanted to give warm coffee as presents to new employees, encouraging them in their work life and love life, as I too play a character who is a first year worker.
"It was a surprise appearance, but people welcomed me warmly, making this event even special.”
