It seems turning 21 has empowered local Mandopop sibling duo By2 judging by their adoption of a whole new look.

In August, the twin sister act -- comprising of identical twins Miko and Yumi Bai -- raised eyebrows when a report showed them ditching their bubblegum-pop look as they went for a 'healthy sexy' image in a FHM photoshoot.

Then, they spoke about their concerns about the public not taking too well to their new image.

However, the duo showed no signs of nerves when they appeared at a public event to promote their new album My Fairground in colourful crop top-skirt combination that showed off their slim midriff and lean legs, reported Takung.

There, they said that they had recently got into the gymming faze, and credited the physical workouts for their body-fat percentage dropping by 20%.

That wasn't the only thing that left observers gobsmacked -- according to the report, critics were astounded by how their bust size remained the same.

To that, Yumi playfully said that she gives her chest a good massage everyday, which gave her a figure that she feels is better than her sister's.

By2 were talent-spotted in 2006 at the Extraordinary Singer’s Course organised by homegrown record label Ocean Butterflies’ subsidiary school, MusicForest.

The duo, then students at Yio Chu Kang Secondary School, created a stir when they decided to drop out of school and skip their O levels to pursue stardom.

They were sent to Japan, China and Taiwan for vocal and dance training and are now based in Taiwan.
