Is Myolie Wu leaving TVB? These tell-tale signs imply so

After Fala Chen, Michael Tse and Raymond Lam, is Myolie Wu the next artiste to leave TVB too? Rumours are swirling that Myolie may not renew her contract with TVB after it ends next year.

After winning the Best Actress Award at the 2011 TVB Anniversary Awards, Myolie has been less prominent in recent years. TVB has been grooming Kate Tsui and Samantha Ko heavily. Even at the recent TVB light-up ceremony, Myolie was nowhere to be seen.

Myolie filmed four series this year, namely, Lady Sour <醋娘子>, Walking With You <陪着你走>, No Reserve <巾幗梟雄之諜血長天> and Lord Of Shanghai <梟雄>. However, her series have all yet to air.

Even in the TVB 2015 calendar, Myolie’s picture took up only a small section of it, with the emphasis placed on the three male leads, Anthony Wong, Wayne Lai and Kent Tong.

Myolie’s last series was Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II>, which aired in July last year. Her series No Reserve was initially considered as an anniversary drama, but was replaced by Wong Cho Lam’s Come On, Cousin <老表,你好hea!> and Wayne Lai’s Overachievers <名門暗戰>.

Her new series is also slated to broadcast in December, which means it is unlikely for her to be nominated in the Best Actress award for the upcoming TVB Anniversary Awards.

Disappointed with the company’s direction, Myolie reportedly has plans to leave the station and seeks better opportunities in China, said Asian Pop News.

While attending an event yesterday, Myolie also admitted that she had yet to decide if she would renew her contract with TVB.

“There is still time, and we are still discussing the contract renewal. I am not young anymore and I must consider carefully. I have been in the industry for 16 years and need to think carefully how I should move from here. I don’t want to give myself too much pressure. There’s more to life besides working.”

Myolie also said that she was approached by other agencies, and that money is not the most important factor.

Myolie will be celebrating her 35th birthday next week. When asked if she had found a boyfriend to celebrate with her, Myolie said, “Not yet. (Any pursuers?) There are, but they are not suitable. I am okay with being single, and will not date for the sake of dating.”

Myolie’s ex-boyfriend, Bosco Wong was rumoured to have a new girlfriend. Responding to Bosco’s romantic life, Myolie said, “You shouldn’t be asking me. It’s normal for him to have a girlfriend. I will give my blessings to him, as long as he is happy.”
