A 23-year-old Malaysian model disappeared suddenly after seeing "dirty things" in her recently-rented Selangor condominium.

According to a report on The Star, rumours were that Germaine Ong went missing on Wednesday (Dec 11) after she moved to the condominium in Damansara Perdana.

An online post seeking the whereabouts of Germaine noted that she had called her mum on Tuesday night (Dec 10), saying she had seen "dirty things" in the condominium.

The post also related how she was talking to the walls for the whole day.

She was quoted as saying that if the next morning she was found dead, it meant the "ghost" had "eaten" her.

Her parents and a friend, known only as Melvin, last saw her in Empire Soho at 1pm on Tuesday (Dec 10).

Her car was parked in the condo but she was said to have walked out of the house.

However, Ong's mother has brushed off the issue of her daughter's disappearance, simply attributing it to some "personal problems".

The mother, who only wanted to be known as Ong, confirmed that her daughter was safe after news circulated on the Internet that her daughter was missing after seeing "dirty things" in the condominium she recently rented.

"She is here now," Ong said when contacted last Thursday (Dec 12).

Ong declined to elaborate on her daughter's disappearance.

This is not the first reported disappearance after an apparent sighting of a ghost. 21-year-old Canadian student Elisa Lam was found dead inside the water tank of a hotel after she was seen on camera behaving in a strange behaviour, which some speculated is akin to seeing a ghost.
