Miley Cyrus on break-up Liam Hemsworth: I don't ever want to have to need someone again

2013 has certainly been an extremely eventful year for singer Miley Cyrus.

Who can forget her 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance, or the image of her swinging around butt naked on a wrecking ball?

Hence, it is hardly surprising that she has made the list of veteran journalist Barbara Walters "10 Most Fascinating People of 2013".

The interview, set to air on Dec 18, reveals a more vulnerable side of the young popstar as she opens up about her three-year relationship with actor Liam Hemsworth.

"I don't ever want to have to need someone again, where you feel like, without them, you can't be yourself," said Cyrus when Walters questioned her about their break-up this year.

Cyrus and Hemsworth met on the set of The Last Song and became engaged in 2012, when Cyrus was 19 and Hemsworth, 22, reports The Straits Times.

"It was so fun wearing a fat rock for a few years," she said of the 3.5-carat diamond ring Hemsworth proposed to her with.

"But now, I just feel like I can actually be happy. I wait for those moments of silence, when I'm just at my house, by myself."
