Former Liverpool, Manchester United and England striker Michael Owen has stunned the world by revealing that he has only ever watched eight movies.
The 34-year-old tweeted on Wednesday, with the bizarre hashtag #HateFilms, that he watched his eighth ever film on a flight home.
Owen then revealed the prestigious list of movies that he deemed worthy of viewing. It includes cinematic masterpieces like The Karate Kid and Ghost.
His lack of any cinematic knowledge doesn't end there.
When The Guardian asked him in August who would play him in a movie, Owen said "What, an actor? I don’t know any actors" before somehow settling on Tom Cruise.
In the same article, he also revealed that he tries to watch movies, only to get bored of them about 40 minutes in.
He said: "I just can’t get into them. I do try – someone will say, ‘Watch this film, it’s great,’ and I’ll try but after half an hour, 40 minutes I can’t take it any longer."
