Hundreds of screaming One Direction fans descended on Madame Tussauds Singapore last night (Jul 9 ) to see the five figures of the world famous boy band including Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik.
An exclusive One Direction preview event took place at the attraction at 7pm last night, allowing die hard One Direction fans the opportunity to get up close and interact with the figures. The event saw hundreds of fans, some as young as eight years old, queuing up from as early as 4.30pm in the afternoon to see the wax figures of their favourite band members. The event caused mass hysteria, with fans screaming and chanting and many in tears when they saw the One Direction figures for the very first time.
The One Direction figures are stopping off in Madame Tussauds Singapore from 10 July 2015 until early October 2015, as part of their tour, giving One Direction fans the unique opportunity to re-live the days of the original five! The One Direction wax figures are a touring set which travel across Madame Tussauds 19 locations around the world.
Each of the band members undertook a three hour sitting with the Madame Tussauds studio team in London during which time over 250 measurements were taken of each of them. It then took the studio team in London over 15 months to produce the five stunningly lifelike figures.
Craig Connor, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Singapore, said “One Direction is one of the most successful boy bands of all time and we are hugely excited to have them arrive at Madame Tussauds Singapore. We had hundreds of fans turn up last night for our preview event – this was a unique opportunity for them to get up close and interact with their favourite stars and see all five band members back together again. We saw tears and happiness, it was really heart-warming to give the fans this memorable experience”.
