Malaysian actress Catriona Ross' mother killed in highway crash

The mother of Malaysian actress Catriona Ross was one of three people who were killed in an accident that occurred along the East-West Highway yesterday morning (Feb 13).The accident occurred when the car that Catriona's mother, Siti Zawiyah Abdul Rahman, was in crashed head on with a bus, The Star reported.Siti Zawiyah and two other passengers, Sitah Abdullah, 53, and Norini Abdul Ghani, 43, died at the scene.The car driver, Mustapa Che Su, 54, was seriously injured while the bus driver and the passengers were unhurt.Gerik police chief Supt Abdul Manab Baharum said the car collided with the bus travelling from Gerik to Jeli at about 1am yesterday."Early investigations show that the Proton Saga was overtaking a few cars when it crashed into the bus. The impact caused the car to be thrown into a drain," he said.He said the bodies had been sent to Gerik Hospital for post-mortem and were released to their families at around 10am.Mustapa was sent to Taiping Hospital.In her Facebook posting, Catriona said: "There is no replacement when you lose a mother."She also urged her fans and those who know her family to pray for her mother's soul.
