Singapore football sensation Fandi Ahmad met his younger self today as he unveiled his wax figure by Madame Tussauds. He will join the world’s best sporting legends David Beckham, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams and Muhammad Ali in the Sports Hall when Madame Tussauds Singapore opens on 25th October 2014.
Fandi Ahmad’s figure wears the Singapore Lion’s 1994 kit which was recreated by Madame Tussauds. The figure captures a special moment in Singapore’s history when the Singapore Lions won the 1994 Malaysia cup with Fandi as captain.
He was voted Player of the Season and awarded a state medal, the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Medal), awarded to persons who has rendered commendable public service in Singapore for their achievement.
Fandi Ahmad, said: “Looking at my wax figure is very exciting for me as it makes me relive that unforgettable moment in my career. I am glad to be able to play my part in developing and building Singapore’s football scene and will continue to do so. I want the younger generation to know that with passion and hard work, we can achieve our dreams!”

Fandi personally chose to unveil the figure at ITE College Central, where he received tremendous support from the institute (formerly known as the Singapore Vocational Institute) to pursue his football career while studying. He continues to hold football sessions for the students as well as children from the community at ITE College Central.
His family and children from his football community outreach sessions were present at the unveiling. Madame Tussauds is one of the world’s most popular visitor attractions, drawing millions of visitors across the globe every year. Madame Tussauds Singapore will be located at Imbiah Lookout on Sentosa and will feature some of Singapore’s most popular celebrities, as well as Asian and International A-list celebrities from around the world.
In addition to Fandi Ahmad, other celebrities confirmed to feature in the attraction include Stefanie Sun, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Beyoncé, David Beckham, Michelle Yeoh and Lady Gaga.
Early bird tickets for Madame Tussauds Singapore will be available online for S$20 per person.
