Looking at this fresh-faced TV star, you wouldn't believe that she used to prefer to dress in baggy shirts and baseball caps. But every little girl has to grow up sometime, and Hanli Hoefer (whose first name is Chinese for "pretty person") has grown to love clean lines and more body-conscious clothing. But Hoefer, whose mother is Peranakan and whose father is German, still reckons she's a "casual" gal."I dress in a tomboy sort of fashion, (but) I am girly and fun at the same time. I always go for comfort first," she said in an interview with My Paper. She loves getting a deal, too. When asked about a recent buy, she waxed lyrical about a pair of brogues she was wearing on the day of her photo shoot."I bought this pair because of the functionality and comfort," she said. "They were at $60, down from $100, which I felt was a good buy," she said.Hoefer, who has become a familiar face on TV, thanks to her role as a host on The MTV Show, is looking forward to a live hosting gig at the upcoming MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia. But before that, she'll be hitting the shops to check out the Great Singapore Sale (GSS)."I love the options and variety that the GSS offers," she said, adding that she won't limit herself to "specific items or looks"."I went a bit crazy on cosmetics and skincare at, the GSS last year," she admitted. "I think (what I bought) could technically last me for two to three years. This year, I will be hunting down clothes and accessories," she said. Her current motto when it comes to style is: Wear basic colours and accentuate your look with loud accessories."Oh, cute shoes never hurt," she added.
