A trio of locally-based siblings are hoping to become the next musical superstars -- by acing the competition in a new online contest endorsed by Simon Cowell.

Mixtronice3, comprising of Don Wilton, 17, Amiliya Romain, 16 and General Vod, 15, call themselves Mixtronice3 and have also recorded a cover of Tinie Tempah's Written in the Stars as a tribute to Megan Young, the newly-crowned Miss World 2013.

In an email to STOMP, the group wrote:

"We are three half-Singaporean siblings who make up Mixtronice3, and want to share our video with everyone here in Singapore.

"Recently, we signed up for a new Simon Cowell contest titled The You Generation.

"Check us out. We sang a song for Megan Young, the newly-crowned Miss World 2013."

According to The You Generation's youtube page, the monthly contest aims to celebrate a new generation of stars by unearthing "unconventional and original talents". Through the contest, budding hopefuls can earn a chance to be shown to the world's leading talent scouts -- all by just uploading a video.
