An exhibition to commemorate the 60th birthday of late Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng is scheduled to kick off in Taipei today. A China Post report stated that visitors will be able to appreciate the legacy of one of the most beloved cultural icons in the global Chinese community."Although Teresa Teng left us more than 18 years ago, her soft and tender voice has always lived in our heart," James Yang, CEO of Gold Media Group, said yesterday during a press conference in Taipei. Gold Media organised the exhibition.Yang said the singer was highly recognised, and not just in Chinese-speaking communities. In 1986, TIME Magazine named Teng one of the seven top female singers in the world.Despite her death in 1995, the example of devotion and enthusiasm for music that Teng set still inspires the Asian world, he added.Yang said a hologram of Teng singing her popular songs will be projected at the exhibition venue, giving visitors the feeling of listening to a live performance. The exhibition is expected to be held in several Chinese cities after it finishes in Taipei, he said. The exhibition, entitled "Legend - Teresa Teng," will show at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei. It features six sections and will run until April 21, according to the organizer. It will display albums, clothes and items used by the legendary songstress, it noted.
