"Why no wedding photo, mummy and daddy?"
It was this question from his daughter Chung Yi, 10, that made marriage-shy Hong Kong entertainer Kenny Bee finally decide to tie the knot with long-time partner, Fan Chiang.
The pair held a wedding ceremony in Bali on Aug 25, witnessed by friends and their two daughters, who were the flower girls and ring bearers.
"I just want to give Fan Chiang a status and account for my daughters, because they always asked why their classmates' parents had wedding photos and we didn't.
"That's why I started thinking about getting married," says the youthful-looking 61-year-old singer, who has two other children from his previous marriage.
How romantic, when your own daughter plays matchmaker.
Not only did the little darling finally force her parents to 'put a ring on it', she also designed her mother's wedding veil, and sang at their wedding.
Well, the girls will now have many photos of mum and dad to show off to her classmates, as well as many photos of celebrity wedding guests, since many celebrity friends of the couple attended the HK$5 million (S$809,000) three-day wedding in Bali, all paid for by the groom himself.
He even handed out red packets to reporters who had gotten into trouble with the police and hotel security.
It looked like a gorgeous celeb-filled wedding and gorgeous wedding destination, but the funniest moment would have to belong to Taiwanese singer-actor Show Luo, who jumped above a line of ladies (which included Elva Hsiao and Cheryl Yang) to grab the bouquet during the bouquet toss.
Not completely gentlemanly, but the 35-year-old has openly said that he wants to get married and have three children, so who knows, we may be looking at another huge celebrity wedding soon.
But before that, Kenny and his wife will be having another banquet back in Hong Kong in November, where more friends and this time family members will also attend.
