Hong Kong artiste Kenny Bee, 61, tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Fan-jiang Su-zhen in Bali recently.
It was held at Alila Villas Uluwatu hotel in Bali with big celebrities attending like Alam Tam, Jacky Cheung, Elva Hsiao, Nick Cheung, Show Luo, Eric Tsang and others. Kenny had splurged RM2 million on the wedding.
Amidst the happy ocassion, tabloids had claimed that guests were unhappy because they had to fork out RM 8,000 each for air tickets and accomodation to the wedding in Bali.
One of them reportedly refused to pay and decided to stay elsewhere as a "protest" over the arrangement.
According to Asian Pop News, Kenny has called it a "fabricated report" and also wrote an apologetic note that this has caused his wife embarrassment. He also announced that all the money he got from red packets for the wedding would be donated to ALS.
Kenny said on Weibo: "I am very sorry that you have to go through this. This is nothing compared to what we have been through. A fabricated report won't hurt us.
"I will donate all the money we collected to ALS. It's not important to issue any ice bucket challenge. Just like whether our wedding is grand, how much our guests have paid, what hotel they stayed in.
"Being calculative causes pressure. This world needs less resentment and more positive energy! This incident will only make us stronger and more determined.Just like what is written on our wedding tea pot, 'There is nothing too challenging for us, we will walk down the road till we grow old!'"
