[by Chloe Yun] Singer IU revealed that she wrote her song ‘Voicemail’ based on her real love story.

Singer IU unveils her real stories and feelings as an early 20 girl through MBC Music’s TV show, ‘Picnic Live Sound, Scenery. On that day, forty lucky girls in her age participated in the show, and it surprised IU that her friends from elementary school and high school were in the group.

IU talked about various topics—about love, future, concerns and etc.—like a normal 20-something-year-old girl. She listened to the girls and shared her one-sided love story of high school time.

She revealed, “This is very first time that I talk about this. My song ‘Voicemail’ is based on my real story. I wrote this song after I was rejected, so it’s really sad to sing the song.”

IU also sang many songs including ‘Voicemail,’ ‘Forgotten Weather, and ‘Sometimes, I Want to Hug You So Much,’ making various performances that she hasn’t shown in public.

Meanwhile, more true stories of IU can be found from MBC Music ‘Picnic Live Sound, Scenery’ today, on November 11 at 11:00PM (KST).  (photo by bntnews DB)
