After Kara member Kang Ji Young‘s stance to not renew her contract was revealed earlier in the day, agency DSP Media has come out with an official statement regarding the future of the group and Kang Ji Young, reports Soompi.

DSP stated through a press released, “On January 8, not through a contents certification, but through a notice containing [Kang Ji Young's] stance on the extension of her contract, she relayed that ‘without a new agreement, I will not extend the contract.’

"We planned to have additional discussions with Kang Ji Young regarding the contract extension.

"But due to the unwitting report on the subject matter, Kang Ji Young has reaffirmed her intentions, and we have been notified that she still wants to leave Kara and walk the path of an actress.”

DSP concluded with remarks on Kara’s future with, “Starting from April, we will reorganize Kara centering on Park Gyuri, Han Seung Yeon, and Goo Hara, and plan to continue with promotions.”
