Boxers Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will fight in Las Vegas

Floyd Mayweather has finally made the official announcement every single boxing fan has been waiting for.

For years there was talk of him facing off against Manny 'Pac-Man' Pacquiao and this year, we get our wish.

After days of increased speculation, rumour and reporting that it was done, Mayweather posted this picture of the signed contract on his social media page. He even used the opportunity for some promo of a new social app he was pushing.

The fight will take place on May 2nd at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, reports The Lad Bible

Most fans had been hoping the fight would take place when the two were at the peak of their powers especially as Pacquiao has recently lost to Juan Manuel Marquez, in the fourth installment of their epic fights, and controversially in the first of two fights against Timothy Bradley.

Despite that Mayweather and Pacquiao find themselves first and third on 'The Rings' Pound for Pound rankings, the boxing magazines definitive rankings for all boxers.

Both American Mayweather and Phillipino Pacquiao have famously beaten Mancunian Ricky Hatton when the 'Hit Man' had that chance to become number one in the Pound for Pound rankings.
