The 21-year-old singer, who split from Selena Gomez last October after four years of dating and has recently been linked to model Hailey Baldwin, claims the biggest misconception about him is "that I'm self-centred" and insists he prefers focusing his attention on one girl at a time.
The 'Confident' hitmaker also says he has turned over a new leaf after a string of controversial incidents last year, during which he was arrested for DUI [Driving Under the Influence] in Miami and also charged with vandalising his former neighbour's home with eggs in Calabasas, California.
He told the April issue of Men's Health magazine: "I do aspire to be a class act. This has really been a big year for me, as far as figuring stuff out. This is almost like a full 180 from how I was. Yesterday - a year from yesterday - I was in jail."
Justin thinks his life spun out of control because he had to grow up in the spotlight.
He said: "I had to grow up so quick. And it was almost like I grew up for the public but I didn't necessarily grow up. There were things I had to do, as far as the way I had to make relationships, and conversation, but as far as actually growing up, there were a lot of things I missed out on."
But he admits there is still a part of him that never wants to get older.
He said: "I want to always remain...to have that sense of purity inside of me where I don't...I don't want to lose that sense of purity."
