The film A COMPLICATED STORY (YUT GOR FOOK JAP DIK GOO SI) is based on Yik Shun's novel of the same name.

The lead actor is Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, but executive producer Johnnie To Kei Fung initially suggested that Louis Koo Tin Lok take on the role, reports HK Top Ten.

Louis had immediately expressed an interest in the role. He tried very hard to accomodate the filming of the show, but had to eventually drop out due to a scheduling conflict.

Producer Shu Kei then immediately thought of Jacky Cheung.

Shu Kei said, "Hok Yau and I have been friends for years. He is very loyal. I even told him about Koo Tin Lok being the first choice.

"Hok Yau was very gracious and understanding. He did not mind taking over.

Jacky's understanding of the script was very thorough and he was very professional, and the entire team appreciated him very much.
