Hong Kong stars who won awards for being most popular trends on Weibo

Chilam Cheung (張智霖), Sharon Chan (陳敏之), Fred Cheng (鄭俊弘), and others attended the Stars of Weibo 2013 Awards, which was held on February 20.

The ceremony awards to those who have managed to become the most popular trends in Hong Kong on Weibo last year.

According to a report on Popular Asians, TVB became the biggest winner of the night, occupying four spots in the top ten trends of the year.

TVB’s Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II> was the highest on the list and reached second place. The 2013 TVB Awards, comedy drama Bounty Lady < My盛Lady>, and reality singing competition The Voice of the Stars <星夢傳奇> also made it to the top ten list.

Chilam’s Wallet Bleeds

Chilam, who starred in Triumph in the Skies 2, was ranked number ten on top ten trendiest Hong Kong celebrities list. He also won the Weibo Trendiest Television Actor award.

Chilam said, “Weibo is important. I checked it recently and realized how deep my wounds were. My wife [Anita Yuen] is currently going all out [shopping] in Paris. Meanwhile, I am in Hong Kong striving and working hard. I’m bleeding,” he said with a laugh.

Sharon Cries for Sammy Leung

Sharon Chan accepted a music award for her single “A Day” <想一天>, a song from her drama Bounty Lady. Currently filming the new TVB action crime drama The Apostle <使徒行者>, Sharon’s costar Sammy Leung (森美) had to withdraw from the cast last minute due to health concerns. Sharon disclosed that his role will be replaced by Sammy Sum (沈震軒).

Fred Cheng to Release New Album in July

Fred Cheng, who shot to instant fame after winning on The Voice of the Stars, accepted the award for Weibo’s Trendiest Rookie. He recently signed to the TVB music record label Voice Entertainment and announced that his upcoming Cantonese studio album is expected to drop in July 2014.
