She has been performing in Mandarin in the past year, but home-grown pop singer Ming Bridges is going back to singing in English for her upcoming television special on MTV Asia.
The chirpy 20-year-old is the first Singaporean artist to be featured on the cable channel's MTV Sessions, reports The Straits Times.
Previous musicians in the series of live performances include Australian indie rockers The Temper Trap and American pop singer-songwriters Kyle Patrick and Greyson Chance.
Recorded at Resorts World Sentosa's Waterfront Studio last month, Bridges' gig was in front of 200 fans who scored tickets via an online contest.
The session will air on MTV Asia (StarHub TV Channel 533 and SingTel mio TV Channel 350) on Saturday.
"It's not every day that you get to do a show like MTV Sessions, so I was really excited and nervous," says the singer who won Best Local Singer and Best Local Album at the Singapore Entertainment Awards 2013, organised by Singapore Press Holdings in May.
"I've been performing Mandarin songs for so long in Taiwan, it's quite refreshing to get to sing English songs again."
Bridges, who released her English debut album Who Knows in February last year, moved to Taiwan soon after that to build a career in the Chinese music industry.
