Cristiano Ronaldo went the extra mile with a wonderful gesture, paying for an operation for a young child with a neurological disorder.

Erik Ortiz Cruz has up to 30 seizures a day, suffering from cortical dysplasia, and his family has been desperately trying to get him help, report The Daily Mail and UK Metro.

The Portuguese footballer was asked to auction a pair of boots or similar in order to help meet the cost of surgery and care for Erik, which was expected to run to around S$69,635.

Instead, Cristiano has pledged to S$105,000 for his treatment and give the baby a second shot at life, report Elite Daily and Bleacher Report.

Not only that, but he gifted young Erik with a signed kit through his charity auction and plans to visit him in the hospital.
