Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin confirms he got married -- a month after wedding

Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin confirmed today (Jul 26) that he had tied the knot with Ms Elaine Andriejanssen, 31, an Indonesian Chinese based in Singapore.

Mr Saverin reportedly got married on June 27.

In a Facebook post, Mr Saverin said: "I am incredibly happy and thankful to have married the love of my life. I look forward to building a family together and to contributing our time and resources to make the world a better place.

"I will wake up every single day of my life with an ingrained smile because of my beautiful, intelligent and caring wife Elaine."

The message was posted in English and Portuguese.

Mr Saverin, who has been living in Singapore since 2009, renounced his US citizenship in 2011 and is said to be worth US$5.1 billion (S$6.9 billion).

He is one of the five co-founders of Facebook along with Mark Zuckerberg, and is an investor in several start-up companies including online property search portal 99.co and local e-grocer Redmart.
