Source: The StarAsia News NetworkMalaysia - Erra Fazira has accepted the lead role of the theatre production Tun Siti Hasmah with mixed feelings. While she is happy to be chosen for the role of the former first lady, she is unsure whether she will be able to play the part well. This is because she has yet to be given the script of the play, which is scheduled to be staged at the end of this month, reported Zass, the entertainment pullout of Sinar Harian.Earlier, the theatre faced a glitch when director Adlin Aman Ramli withdrew and the producers hastily appointed Erma Fatima to take his place. When I was told that I will be acting as Tun Dr Siti Hasmah, I was really excited but, at the same time, nervous as she is not just an ordinary character.Until today, I have not received the script and besides a meeting with her, I could not make any other preparations.I managed to ask her a few questions to get a better insight of the character, added Erra, adding that she was not blaming Erma, who was also recruited at the last minute.Asked if she was thinking of withdrawing, Erra said she had given her commitment to continue with the play as it was a project of her close friend Datin Paduka Umie Aida. The Tun Siti Hasmah theatre is scheduled to be staged at Istana Budaya from Aug 30 to Sept 9.
