Embattled Michelle Yeoh now avoids talking politics

Earlier this month, Malaysian-born actress Michelle Yeoh encouraged Malaysians to vote for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib, which resulted in her being blasted online by netizens. This time, she has made it clear she no longer wishes to discuss politics.Michelle had set time aside to return to the country of her birth to openly support the Prime Minister in the upcoming 2013 general elections. Aware that her support of the controversial political party aroused criticisms, Michelle does not want to discuss and talk about her country’s politics outside of Malaysia.She attended the gathering organized to show support for Najib, upsetting many in Malaysia. Not one to shy away from expressing her opinions, she urged the public to vote for the ruling party last Saturday, which saw netizens lash out verbally at her.Now that Michelle is back in Hong Kong to attend Guerlain’s promotional event as the brand’s ambassador, she has declared that she no longer wants to talk politics and says she has said all she wanted to say in Malaysia.
