From Donnie Yen to Anthony Wong, big Hong Kong stars turn up for director's birthday

Director Andrew Lau Wai Keung celebrated his 54th birthday in Sai Kung on April 4, reports hktopten.

A movie poster from 'From Vegas to Macau' welcomed guests, but instead of actors Chow Yun Fat and Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, the director's face graced the cover with words photoshopped to 'Sun Yut Fung Won' (birthday storm), 'Silly Keung', and 'Beyond cool birthday celebration'.

Lau and his wife stood next to the poster for photos.

He did not mind being called 'Silly Keung' at all, joking that this nickname began as early as 'Infernal Affairs'.

Many friends from the media industry attended, like Dior Cheng Yi Kin and his wife Yoyo Mung Ka Wai, Donnie Yen Chi Tan and his wife Cissy Wang, Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Chen Chen, and Wong Jing.

Being the honoured host, Lau prepared about 10 cases of wine for guests.

His birthday wish was for good health and happiness and hoped he would continue to work with Wong Jing, as well as plan a 'From Vegas to Macau' sequel with the original team.

When asked if he would include Chapman To Man Chak, he said, "I am not saying just yet."

Cheng Yi Kin and Mung Ka Wai held hands as they arrived, but when they saw reporters they awkwardly rushed inside.

When asked what gift he got for Lau, Yi Kin said:

"Two bunches of bananas (empty handed)."

Chan Sin Chi brought two bottles of wine, one of which was from Leon Lai Ming who could not attend due to work.

Yen Chi Tan would attend every year without fail,  joking that Lau Wai Keung was another year younger -- which had to be celebrated.
