Local actor Dai Peng may be small in stature but don't let his frame fool you for he packs a powerful voice and was the person who would always brighten up the mood around him whenever he's on set.

That fond image of Dai was revealed when fellow actor Edmund Chen, together with his wife Xiang Yun, spoke to an omy.sg reporter at his wake.

Dai passed away on Sunday (May 12) after a two-week fight with lymphoma.

He was 75-years-old then.

The couple weren't the only celebrities who turned up to pay their respects to the late actor.

Also spotted at the wake were, among others, Zoe Tay, Vincent Ng and Huang Shinan, reported Lianhe Wanbao.

Speaking to omy.sg, Zoe reminisced about how Dai was always fond of being around people.

"Even on his off days, he'd come back to hang out with those of us who were working then," she said.

Dai Peng's body is currently at St Joseph's Church Funeral Parlour (143 Victoria Street) and his funeral and cremation is scheduled for tomorrow at the Mandai crematorium.

Mediacorp veteran Huang Wenyong had passed away earlier of the same cancer.

He was 60 years old.
