Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao narrowly escaped being splashed with excrement on Monday, the Chinese media reported yesterday.

According to a My Paper report, two men attempted to approach the star as he left his home for a fan event.

He quickly got into his car before they reached him, so the two posed as fans of the star and asked the chauffeur if they could get Hsiao's autograph.

When the driver refused, they attempted to throw urine and faeces from a container into the car, but missed the singer who was sitting in the back with his agent, Summer.

The unfortunate driver was drenched with the faecal matter, but still attempted to catch hold of the perpetrators.

After a brief scuffle, the two men managed to leave on a motorcycle.

Hsiao's agent said he had been getting threatening phone calls in the last two months, and reports said that he will be hiring bodyguards.

The 26-year-old insisted that he has not offended anyone and has no idea who might want to attack him in this manner.
