Chilam Cheung has hit out at fans who plan to continue the "No TV" movement on the night of TVB Anniversary later this month.

The movement came about after the Hong Kong government rejected popular television station HKTV's application for a free-to-air license.

According to a Mingpao report, Chilam said he felt such a protest was unfair to artists.

He explained: "Turning off the TVs will just erase the artists' hard work. They really put serious effort into their work.

"The spearhead is pointed to the wrong direction. Its unfair to the artists."
