Source: Berita HarianRenowned Malaysian celebrity Chef Wan Mohd Ismail Redzuawan opened a restaurant in Singapore as part of his first food business.1 Market, Chef Wan's first restaurant, is a joint-venture between him and Food Junction, a leading food and drink franchise here.The restaurant can accommodate 450 people, and will be located at Plaza Singapura.It is casual restaurant that serves Southeast Asian food in the style of buffet each day.Customers can enjoy meals from countries such as Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Japan in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.When asked why he chose Singapore to open his first restaurant, Chef Wan said:"The location was very good and since Singapore has a high cost of living, I want to open a restaurant where my clients are able to bring their families together for meals because food prices will charged within their ability."Food prices at 1 Market will be significantly lower than that charged by other restaurants that provide food buffet style.Most of the recipes used in the restaurant will be Chef Wan's own recipes that he collected over 26 years.Since its opening last week, the restaurant received a very encouraging response, especially with the occasional presence of Chef Wan who mingles with customers.According to Chef Wan, if he finds another location which is good, he will consider opening another restaurant here.His second restaurant will open in Garden Mall, Mid Valley Kuala Lumpur soon.He wants to open a franchise in cities like Shanghai, London and Bangkok with the same concept.
