Gillian Chung and Edison Chen have kept their distance from each other ever since the scandal over the latter's collection of indecent photos broke in 2008.
Five years may have lapsed since, but Gillian's group mate in Twins, Charlene Choi, seems to still be bent on keeping a distance from Edison, as the duo avoided each other at the premiere of the film, Streets of Macao, in Macau.
HKTopTen reported that Charlene treated Edison like a stranger and kept her back towards him at all times. Even when they were on stage for a toast, they pretended not to see each other despite being less than 10 meters apart.
Edison and Charlene intricately dodged each other also when they appeared on the red carpet separately. Although they both said that they did not mind being near each other, their assistants came across as very tense.
When Charlene completed her interviews with the online media, her assistant immediately brought her to speak with the public relations people.
Meanwhile, Edison was doing interviews with the print media but as he was done and on his way over to the online media section, Charlene went on to do interviews with the print media, successfully avoiding a direct confrontation.
When reporters asked them for a photo together, Charlene's assistant immediately interfered, saying that no one should keep waiting for the two of them to come together.
Edison, who appeared to have been drinking, admitted that he saw Charlene but has not had the chance to greet her.
He said: "If I can see her in my line of sight, I would say hello to her. I wouldn't deliberately greet her.
"I wouldn't (feel awkward seeing her and) I hope she wouldn't either.
"I don't know if she saw me."
Frustrated, he then turned on reporters and asked: "Why don't you ask yourself if you feel awkward!"
When asked about the particualr arrangement of matters for the night, Charlene said: "I waited in a room for over a hour, but no one arranged for me to appear.
Charlene also admitted that she saw Edison but she has not greeted him yet.
"Seeing him doesn't mean making eye contact.
When told Edison would greet her if he saw her directly, Charlene said: I think he is too lucky, he hasn't been able to see me.
Ah Sa said that she was not familiar with Edison, so they did not have much to talk about.
She really did not remember if this was the first time they were at the same event after the scandal.
She was later asked if she would deliberately avoid a toast with him, to which she replied: "Really? I don't know, I am a little 'disoriented' from awaiting, it's like a dream."
Would she mind working with him? Ah Sa said it would depend on what the collaboration was. "Everyone hopes to wish others well, I hope he can return to a position anew."
Would she mind a photo together? She joked, "Why not, I am not scared of you!"
