Bomb threats, but Miss World Singapore 2013 is not pulling out

Even though Mrs Yvonne Zenieris "freaked out" when her friends in Indonesia told her about bomb threats targeting the Miss World finals, she is allowing her daughter to continue with the show in Bali.

She didn't pull her daughter, Miss World Singapore 2013 Maria-Anna Zenieris, from the pageant because "I believe that once she has committed to something, she has to see it through".

Muslim hardline groups in Indonesia have been protesting against the Miss World pageant, calling it “pornographic”.

According to a report in The New Paper, their protests led to the bikini segment being removed from this year’s finals.

The finals were supposed to be in Jakarta on Sept 28, but were moved to Bali.

Mrs Zenieris said that her daughter, who is now in the island resort, had told her that she is heavily guarded wherever she goes.
