Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone's cleavage became the talk of the town after a top Indian newspaper publicised it, sparking a torrent of criticism against the Times of India.

The actress had posted a screenshot of the offensive tweet by the Times of India, which she responded to angrily in a series of posts. She tweeted:

"Supposedly India's 'LEADING' newspaper and this is 'NEWS'!!??"

"YES!I am a Woman.I have breasts AND a cleavage! You got a problem!!??"

"Dont talk about Woman's Empowerment when YOU don't know how to RESPECT Women!"

She also found support from many quarters as colleagues and fans condemned the photograph and accompanying article, reported NDTV via AsiaOne.

The Times of India then responded to say that they meant it as a compliment, which many felt was an equally terrible move.
