Andy Lau was forced to run from Chinese cops for real during filming of his new movie, Lost and Lonely.

Filming began in March in Quanzhou, Fujian province in China.

In the film he plays a farmer journeys to find his kidnapped son.

During one of the film's many hidden camera shoots, Andy Lau fell afoul of the city's law enforcement due to his convincing costume.

Having lost weight and dressed in tattered clothing, including a canvas bag for the scene, Andy Lau was practically unrecognizable to passers-by.

When he was spotted putting up missing person fliers outside a train station by policemen, they promptly chased him away.

When photos of the unfortunate incident were posted online, netizens were amazed at how realistic his acting was, when in fact he had ran in real fear from the policemen.
