Being stuck with the 'Otaku Goddess' label may be a little frustrating for Taiwanese model-actress Amber An but she s determined to prove that she is more than just a pretty face with a fabulous figure.Ever since she broke into the entertainment scene on Taiwanese pseudo-news variety programme Celebrity Imitated Show (全民最大党), An has gone through four years of gruelling practice under the watchful eyes of producers who see potential in her.Despite her versatility in being able to helm different roles be they comedic or tragic, she was still slapped with the 'Otaku Goddess' label by others.Speaking in an interview published on Dushiwang, An said she could not understand why some people would criticise her acting even before they watched her in action."Even if you don't trust my acting, have some faith in my fellow co-stars! Why not give me a chance to prove myself and let me break away from the stone-cold 'Otaku Goddess' stereotype everyone has placed me in?" she added.Recounting how her role in a movie last year attracted flak, she said: "I went to the cinema to watch that film four times to try and understand why my role would rile people up".She also said that she is determined to follow in the path of Shu Qi, who also broke away from a similar label to become the successful, actor she is now.
