A Malaysian Chinese Youtuber, Elizabeth Tan Su Mei, has been making waves online for her effortless rendition of Malay songs.

According to a report in Berita Harian, the 21-year-old first started her foray in the online world through vlogs or video blogs. In these vlogs, she talked about herself in front of a camera.

Tan revealed that she posted these videos as she was interested in becoming a television personality. However, she ditched her video blogging efforts after she felt uncomfortable watching them.

She then tried singing an English song called The Show, which she put up on Youtube. The video attracted about 2,000 views. Encouraged, she posted up more videos of her singing online.

Now, if you look up Elizabeth Tan on YouTube, her name will be linked to songs like Kau Ilhamku, Selamat Hari Raya and Tanggal 31.

Another song she sang called Havoc by Joe Flizzow garnered over 850,000 views.

The aspiring singer is said to have also successfully released her first single recently, which she called Knock Knock
